Kill That Person and His Family (pg.7)

“Whichever boy was ordered to kill that person and his family must do it.”

In this episode of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Twain shows the Huck and Tom and many other followers to join a gang that will rob and kill people based on a book Tom has read. Twain points out to America that the children and teenagers, based on what they have read and heard about they begin gangs and mobs, much like the one Tom creates, even though they dont exactly cause crime. By simply reading something or hearing it, people get a false tense of imagination, and try to imitate what they see and hear. This can be seen in modern society, but primarily in the youth. Games such as Grand Theft Auto promote gang activity and criminal acts. The latest Grand Theft Auto game sold 13 million globally and continues to be on teh shelves of game stores. Even though this is a simple game, you can see the same reactions as that of Tom's in the youth today. In teh video you can see a trailer of GTA and how this advertisement could influence the youth.
